Some children might be very senstive to the textures of foods, temperature, taste or the environment around them when they are eating. We can look at ways of adapting foods or the environment to make the 'overload' on the senses more managable and eating more enjoyable.
This can be due to their senses or other factors such as fear of trying new foods, strong preference for foods which look the same/preference for certain brands of foods etc.
In some instances selective eating might be more extreme, for example in children with ARFID. Your child might already be diagnosed with ARFID or you might need help in finding out more about this condition.
