Mr Ijaz Ahmad is a leading consultant ENT surgeon based in Birmingham and the West Midlands, He privately practises at Spire Little Aston Hospital and The Vesey Private Hospital, while his NHS base is University Hospitals Birmingham.He is highly qualified, and has higher degree FRCSEd (ORL-HNS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and an MMedSci from the University of Wolverhampton.Mr Ahmad, deals with most general ear, nose and throat problems, has developed a special technique in managing patients that have a feeling of a lump in the throat. He also offers specialist services in complex cases of swallowing disorders.
Mr Ahmad also has a specialist interest in high calcium due to parathyroid disease, closely working with endocrine physicians in order to handle these cases as a team.His work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and he's a member of various professional organisations. These include the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists (BANHO) and the British Association of Thyroid and Endocrine Surgeons (BAETS). He is also a member of Birmingham Medicolegal Society and the Midlands Institute of Otolaryngology (MIO).
